The new rate is still RATE.
To understand the new rate, you have to understand the current one. It is extractive, and it is not sustainable. An extractive model can only ever become sustainable. A regenerative model starts there.

01 The current rate
Three farms. Same plot, same seeds.
To understand the new rate you have to understand the current one, and the clearest place to see it is not a business. It is a farm. Three farms, same plot, same soil, three relationships to what grows.
The standard farm plants a modified seed with no variety, an unchanging script that makes the same ear of corn every time. The soil is not built, it is maintained: fertilizer, nutrients, exactly enough water, and pesticide over the whole effort up to the finished product. If the timer says spray, the system sprays. It never asks whether the garden needs it. Anything else that grows is called a weed and removed. Stay in your lane. If it is not broken, do not fix it. If it is broken, it is probably your fault, so cover it up. Soil becomes dirt, the crop is artificially successful and has to be fortified, and the people absorb the toxins while following a recipe instead of a relationship.
The organic farm removes some of the toxins and makes the work less toxic. The product may improve, which mostly matters because it can be charged for. The farmers may get less sick, mostly so they can work harder. Organic fertilizer, organic pesticide: more sustainable ways to manage the same symptoms. In the best case, when every farmer is an expert and everything goes right, they offset the stress of the job and show up back at zero. Net zero is achieved, the optics of human sustainability are held up by money, the badges are handed out, and the wounded are still harvested like the crop they are sacrificing for.
The regenerative farm is a relationship, a conscious one, and it requires knowledge and awareness. It does not focus on time, profit or quality. It focuses on harmony, balance and resilience. It knows the soil is intelligent. It knows shit is gold. It knows diversity creates synergy, and that a weed is a relationship word, not an identity. It knows bugs are information. When snails arrive and start eating the crop, it does not poison the snails. It introduces ducks. The snails are a pivot toward possibility: the ducks remove the disbalance, and their shit adds nitrogen to the pond.
A Sygnosai sees SHIT and BUGS and turns them into SOIL and FOOD. Dysregulated humans see the snails and are already in survival, being attacked; they cannot stop to ask what the potential is. Regulated humans see the snails and say: interesting, our crops must be delicious. What eats snails? Same plot, same soil, a different mind.
A business is a farm. A life is a garden. The soil is the unseen system, the seed is the intention, the plant is the scaffold, and the fruit is the yield a business is after. Flowers are another measure: they bring in diversity, they pollinate, they lead to fruit. Focus only on fruit and flowers look like weeds. Focus on the soil and you allow flowers, fruit, and attention you did not expect.
Three loops
same plot. same seeds. three relationships to the loop.
01
Monocrop
Broken loop
identical rows, no variety input, output, waste. no return.
sprayed. the symptom is poisoned, the system is unchanged, the load moves to the human.
Soil depletes= Extractive operations
02
Organic-branded
Flat loop
less toxic, same model symptoms offset, not composted.
sprayed organically. an award is handed out. same wound, slower.
Soil holds= Corporate wellness
03
Regenerative
Rising loop
in this case: snails, ducks, nitrogen, soil the problem becomes food.
what eats snails? signal, response, return, soil. the disbalance becomes a synergy.
Soil regenerates= Regenerative operations
A business is a farm. A life is a garden. The soil is the unseen system.
Regenerative Operations, founded on human sustainability, is the path forward for intelligent systems.
02 The triangle
Cost, quality, time. Leave it alone.
Every operation lives inside the same triangle. Pull on any corner and the other two move. Focus on profit and you control time and sacrifice quality. Focus on time and you control cost and sacrifice quality. Focus on quality and you jeopardize both time and money. Every version of the extractive model is a version of grabbing a corner.
Sygnosai leaves the variables alone. It puts the human in the middle of the triangle and lets cost, quality and time find their own homeostasis as the side effect of three things: intelligent systems, regulated humans, and resilience that is being built rather than spent.
Left alone, the triangle holds its shape and the human stays at the centre. Homeostasis is the side effect.
Pull a corner and watch what happens to the centre.
03 ENIN
The world around us and the world within us.
ENIN is short for ENvironment and INvironment: the relationship between the two, and the claim that they are one system seen from two sides. A person is a system. An organization is a system of people. The same law runs in both, and I wrote it down twice before I noticed.
Invironment · one human
Identity is the arrangement of the hardware and firmware. Personality is the software. And you are the programmer. You are not the hardware. You are not the software. You are not the firmware. The most responsible thing any human can do is achieve their own level of personal sustainability.

Environment · one organization
Leave the variables alone and let their homeostasis be the side effect of intelligent systems, regulated humans, and resilience. Dysregulated humans cannot create sustainable systems, and systems that dysregulate humans in order to succeed are not sustainable either.

04 Humanicism
HumanicismHuman + ic + ism. A system of belief relating to the human.
The word is mine, derived from Hermeticism, which is where the principle came from. I see the geometry under the form, and the form has revealed its geometry.
Humanicism is the operational philosophy that recognizes human internal stability and global environmental health as an inseparable, mirrored loop. It bridges the singular human system with the collective system of an organization, defining the INvironment (the internal arrangement of identity, hardware, and software) as the root driver of the external ENvironment (the homeostasis of organizations and ecosystems). True to the principle of “as within, so without; as without, so within,” personal sustainability is a non-negotiable prerequisite for system-wide resilience. Because a dysregulated human cannot build a regulated architecture, an intelligent system must be designed to sequester stress rather than force its participants to absorb it, and sustainable success becomes a natural side effect of its operation.
Humanism is a value claim: the human is worthy. Humanicism is an operational claim: the human is a system that writes systems. One letter apart. Not the same sentence.
05 Hold, not absorb
Humans cannot sequester stress. A system can.
The moments in a day that call for a choice are made from decisions. Decisions are made from agreements. Agreements are made from priorities. Stress shows up at the moment of choice, and what a system expects a human to do with it in that moment is the whole difference between the rates.
In an extractive model the human is expected to hold it, carry it, and absorb it, distress and eustress alike, and is offered performance-based coping in return. In the best case the stress gets unloaded later as rumination or venting, and the small validation from a friend or colleague masks what is taken home and stored in the body. When a substance becomes the mask, it works until tolerance reaches a dangerous level or the personality starts to shrink.
Here is what it sounds like. Eventually someone says: I don’t get paid enough for this shit. To a colleague it lands as “yea man, same,” and rumination adds to the narrative. To a manager it lands as I don’t get PAID ENOUGH for this shit, and the manager manages: we gave you the four percent when it came time, if you just work harder. An empathetic leader, one who lets management be the side effect, hears I don’t get paid enough for THIS SHIT, and leads: let’s talk about this shit. That is the first step toward a Sygnosai. Empathetic leaders are its front line and its genuine human connection. Without them, nothing underneath the sentence gets heard, and there is no stability.
In a Sygnosai the human holds stress temporarily, until reflection with the system. The system digests it. Distress is sequestered as improvement potential and promptly addressed, so the same problem stops arriving. Eustress is matched to the person, challenge aimed at skills and talents, and that is where growth comes from. Nobody is repeating broken processes. Nobody is waiting until Friday.
Sequestration. The word is borrowed from soil on purpose.
Priorities→Agreements→Decisions→Choices→the moment stress arrives
06 The four moves, one dimension up
Regulate. Adapt. Transmute. Evolve. Same moves. Bigger sphere.
nuRATE is the same RATE that runs the personal evolution on the unRUT page, applied to an organization instead of a person. Each move below is written twice: once for one human, once for a system of them. In a Sygnosai the system is as accountable as its participants.
Move one
Regulate Sobriety as a side effect. Embodied clarity.
One human
Regulation makes sobriety a side effect instead of a performance. Breathe before you cope, and eventually one of them becomes absurd. It is never the breath.
One system
The system's ability to change its own playbook and assign eustress is what produces consistent regulation in the participants. The plai book updates continuously, not at year-end. Nobody works around the same broken step twice.
What it looks like
On-time and on-budget as the standard, and things starting to arrive early and under budget. The regenerative model reads that as room for fitness, not room for more.
Move two
Adapt Fitness as a side effect. Embodied confidence.
One human
Fitness that points toward possibility: curious, exposed to variety, challenged in a way that is fulfilling rather than draining, delaying gratification while detached from expectation and rooted in honest reflection.
One system
The extractive model champions survival metrics: capacity, patience, recovery. Those are not resilience. They sit on the shrinking side of adaptation, compromising for the environment instead of fortifying. A Sygnosai removes the distress, so human sustainability is the baseline, not the goal, and fitness can point somewhere.
What it looks like
The VarieTask. A question usually meant for a CFO is put to a participant who is usually an administrative assistant, with no wrong answer. The system learns every angle of the operation, founder to janitor. The person is empowered by the consideration alone, and belonging replaces labels.
Move three
Transmute Fear becomes courage potential.
One human
Transmutation turns one form into another. Fear becomes courage potential. Challenge becomes opportunity. When the present moment offers a previously undesirable condition to a human who is regulated, with the clarity and confidence that come from self-regulation and fitness, the outcome has a different meaning.
One system
Stress is separated into distress and eustress. Distress becomes improvement potential. When curiosity and variety are the motivation behind an uncertain situation, instead of “this way is better” or “my way is bad,” the choice to be brave is made from the decision to drop the meaning, and there is room to experience novelty without expectation.
What it looks like
A distress report that does not need a system change. One of four people on similar tasks reports dysregulation, and the system routes mentorship instead of a training video: join a teammate in a Sygno. Resolution through connection.
Move four
Evolve Greater than the sum of its parts.
One human
The new connections in the brain and in the psyche become new connections to other humans. Awareness, consciousness and presence expand until the identity changes. New environments, new skills, new relationships.
One system
Those connections produce a level of energy greater than the sum of the people. Innovation, growth and evolution become commonplace, and the operation is not more than sustainable. It is regenerative.
What it looks like
With regulated humans in an intelligent system, success is sustainable, growth is inevitable, and evolution is a side effect.
07 The mirror
unRUTis the personnuRATEis the organization
The same two letters, reversed. A wave changing direction. unRUT is one human leaving the loop through the singularity and rising. nuRATE is a system of humans doing the same four moves one dimension up, on a surface that has curved. The square and the cube tile a plane forever. The orb only closes when the surface curves.
the same orb as the end of unRUT
Let work be the side effect of regulated humans in a sustainable system.
08 The garden
Start your own garden. You do not have to leave the farm.
I left the unsustainable farm. Before I started my own, I realized I needed to tend to my own garden first. Right now the most responsible thing any human can do is start their own garden: a personal Sygnosai. You do not have to leave your big farm. Your own garden will open your mind and your eyes to what is happening on the farm.
Over time I will have my own regenerative garden, and when I do, I know I will meet the other gardeners. But it is not enough to know how to make a garden. I am not going to farm one harvest of fruit and then run around telling people to make their own. I am definitely not going to juice all my fruit into a concentrate and ignore my garden to coach others about being a gardener.
This time, I am going to embody it. Because if the garden is undeniable, the people I was running around to reach will walk up on their own and ask how?
